Call me Greg Farley.
Welcome to gregoryfarley.com. “Gregory” sounds a little haughty, I know. It’s a long story involving sleep deprivation from the birth my first daughter, but the short version: I lost gregfarley dot com to an unscrupulous url profiteer. Not one to give into extortion, I bought gregory instead and enabled autorenew on all my urls. And now you know a little something about my character.
It’s not easy to curate a career. I’ve worked with some remarkable people who each had a hand in this work. And I’m grateful to all of them (ask me for names; I’ll make the connection). In an effort to capture a few professional and personal highlights, I’ve put this little game of tap-a-project together. Have a look.
project_01:
Karmanos Cancer Institute. To quote a patient, “I’ve seen enough Doctors with their arms folded telling me why I should have hope… this straight showed it to me.”
project_02:
Mercedes-Benz. COVID-19 put far too many events on hold, but car shows? Not on our watch. And we found quite a few celebrities who agreed.
project_03:
Jack Daniel’s. It was Jack’s 150th anniversary, so a gift was in order. How about 150 prize filled barrels in 50 markets around the world? All you had to do was look for each location based on a 150-year-old photo on Facebook. And beat thousands of other people.
project_04:
Land Rover. How do you recapture the romantic mystique of a brand that had become associated with grocery runs? Have a world-famous author write a novella featuring a model we didn’t even sell in the US. Oh, and also create a custom social network of enthusiasts and feature them alongside the story.
AN ORIGINAL NOVELLA by William Boyd
MEETS A CUSTOM SOCIAL NETWORK of Land Rover Enthusiasts
project_05:
Jeep. Super Bowl LII. Actions speak louder than words you’ve heard a thousand times before.
project(s)_06:
Welcome to the “So blessed” section of my work. A few fun campaigns and ideas from over the years.
project(s)_000:
A bit of prose and poetry is good for the soul and better for the craft. I write 500 words a morning to clear the cobwebs.
Try it.
Biographical Miscellany
I have a degree in Psychology from The George Washington University. Everything beyond flows from that initial curiosity into what makes people tick.
From a career standpoint, I started out in national politics and PR before moving into advertising. D.C., Wisconsin, and Chicago. It shouldn’t surprise you that there’s some overlap. From there, I went here:
Springer Jacoby / Hamburg, DE
Saatchi & Saatchi / LA
Goodby Silverstein & Partners / SF
Kirshenbaum Bond Senecal & Partners / NYC
Y&R / NYC
Arnold Worldwide / NYC
Freelance / All. Over. The. Map.
